Nasty Experience at the Gym

It still upsetting me!

Went to the gym on Sunday to do a Combat class & 2 people (a very fat man & an instructor) accused me of being too skinny in front of other gym goers.

This is not the first time this has happened at that gym. Another woman said the same thing about 2 months ago.

How rude are they! They don't know me or are not even friends of mine! And they all took the time to insult me because they thought it was funny. If I were the type of personality to do some sort of harm to myself they would be in big trouble. Lucky for me it goes the other way.

I know I'm fine and I look after myself and that's all that matters. I had a heart-to-heart with my Personal Trainer. He said he sympathised & told me I have nothing to worry about as I am not skinny. Those people are used to seeing me heavy but they need to get passed that. Good advice.

I'm still really pissed-off about it!!!!

Blackmores Sydney Festival Bridge Run

Sheez! I so forgot to write about this fantastic experience!

Never in my life did I think I could run 9km let alone an official run. If I wasn't eating the way I do now I doubt that I'd have lasted the distance.

So, I did it with a time of 1hr,2mins & 3 secs. It was a pretty comfortable run I have to say. Next year I would like to do it much faster as I know I can. However, my running buddies want to tackle the Half Marathon (21kms). So I'm not sure which I'll do. 21kms is a long long distance. By September 2010 I will know which one I'll do.

The other bit of good news is I managed to raise some much needed funds for my charity of choice: http://www.gofundraise.com.au/halej. I still have a bit of money to raise by 12th December.

The funny thing is I joined a run group to fulfil my IBO cardio requirements which I failed to do when I did the first program (I'm on my 2nd). The group I run with - NRG - are awesome. So friendly and encouraging. And since joining, it has opened up so many other possibilities/interests for me such as doing kick-box classes once a week and gone back to swimming (without flippers - hardwork!) once a week as well.

Somebody sent me a video of women in a Pole Dancing competition and I'm thinking 'can I do that like them?' Hmmm...ya never know? Their bodies are so fantastic - such an athletic thing & so sexy (-: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_NJiwIVu6k&feature=PlayList&p=C1FC7F16C5164402&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=15

There's a mother Plover causing a bit of a ruckus in the field next door to me. I feel sorry for her having to deal with 2 crazy over-energised babies. Good luck to em all & fingers crossed!

THURS - 8OCT - RUN WITH NRG

Did a great run with the group. Went from one extreme to another - intense then easy, intense then easy, etc. Was very hilly & we HAD to jog up hill. When we reached the top we were allowed to walk for a bit then back to a jog. I'm not talking slow jog either! Beautiful area - back streets of Cammeray then thru to Mosman & back to base at Crows Nest.

The good news is that I worked out that if I take smaller steps I can last longer than if I take longer strides - which knacker me out really quickly.

The annoying news is that whenever I finish a run, the back of my right foot always hurts. I spoke to the Chiropractor about this and she put the pulse machine on it. She said to ice it. Which I always always forget to do - bah!!!!

Looking at doing core training once a week, a run on Thurs & a swim on Tuesday. I've been swimming with flippers but I am retraining with a group to swim without flippers - so laborious. It's like starting all over again - booo!

I quite like Weight training early early mornings but if I have long days at work, it catches up with me. Previously I had more WT than cardio. Now it's the other way around so I'm pushing to be more consistent.
