Reflecting...again

Today is Sunday; sunny & cold with crazy winds!

Just thinking that this time last week I actually did the Blackmores Sydney Festival Bridge run of 9kms. Actually about this time I was enjoying yum-cha but the morning I was running. I can't believe I did it. The 2 weeks leading up to it I spent more time doing run training than weights. I was pretty nervous on the day but I found it really easy. In fact, in hindsight I could have gone faster. Next year I want to do the Bridge run again but a much faster time. My running friends want to do the Half Marathon. Maybe I could do that too? As usual, I never have total faith in myself.

There is no way I could have achieved any run without my friends at IBO - no way! I have a hell of a lot to thank them for which is getting my eating on track. I knew I was eating incorrectly but what? how? I'd been to see 3 dieticians who all told me to eat more vegetables & fruit. Like that's not rocket-science but showing me how to eat those foods is. I never thought ever to ask for a personalised diet. People who are ignorant to food groups & eating correctly (me) need to be given something concrete (a schedule to follow) and that's what I have been after. It wasn't till I logged into the IBO site that I found this out.

I have learned so much about food & water since joining IBO. I have better health, more energy, I look so much better in fact the last time I looked this decent was my late twenties. Haha then it was all down hill after that.

My life has changed for the better! I'm now interested in doing more sport. I tried soccer last year but failed miserably with that basically because I was so unfit & not eating correctly then I broke my ankle. Definitely a wake-up call.

I had a go at rowing & I'd like to persue that further. I'm just going back to swimming. And from this week onwards am rearranging my schedule so I do a weights every morning except 2 days a week. I will be doing cardio 4 days a week - 2/3 high intensity.

I see a PT once a week and I'm contracted to that for a while then I will see the PT once a month.

The most successful is the running. Being a part of the IBO program I realised second time around how unmotivated I was. So I enrolled to do a learn to run program with the Northside Running Group and I've never looked back. Group fitness for me is the way to go. Plus I've met some really nice people. Which led me to the Bridge run.
