Did the first of 10 sessions with Northside Sports Club yesterday. I think we did around 3-5Ks. Mix of jog & walk as this is but a taste of what we're in for. Was quite nice running around Crows Nest (Sydney) & down to St Leonards park. Small group of girls (about 9 of us).
We have 2 trainers: Steve, who fronts the group & Toni (god bless) who runs at the back with the last person - which was me (-:
Think my ankle was my main concern & running in semi darkness on uneven surfaces. So I was mindful of this.
By the end of the session Steve said he wanted our group to run in the Sydney Bridge race on the 9th September! He wasn't joking.
Overall, it was pretty good & although this morning my calves were sore & my ankle stiffer than usual - I feel pretty good. We have been told to run an extra 2 times a week (yes homework!) in order to cope with the intensity of each weekly session. Also it's a bonus as it works in with my IBO program. Nothing like a bit of push.
Today is my day off so I'm going to the Mall with my partner who said he will shout me lunch (my free meal). I feel like a Vegie burger sandwich and chips & although I am more than happy to cook these at home we'll see what we can find.

Hello! Start of Week 9
Hello there.
The time has flown since 11th May when I first started out.
Day after Mothers Day & I had family over. They cooked a massive breakfast of buckwheat pancakes & lightly fried vegies & leftovers. The smell was heaven.
But, I wasn't allowed any of that & had to start my new food plan with a tiny meal of porridge & protein (in my mind it was very very tiny to what I was used to). But I did it as I really wanted to change myself. The first week was the toughest as I felt a little lonely eating a different way. However, the forum was a good place to see that other people were in the same situation as me. After the first week it got better.
A woman at my gym told me yesterday I was wasting away to a shadow! I can't tell you how much that hurt. I still have a complex about her comment. To make matters worse, she said it in front of people I do regular classes with. Soooooo embarrasing! The very next day - as if to verify her comments were unfounded - another friend who I haven't seen since I started the program (a male who is very straight to the point) told me I'd lost weight & that I was looking good. That was a very nice confirmation. The woman's comments still hurt.
Weighed myself this morning. 67kg! Pretty happy with that especially seeing I started out at 75kg of feeling very uncomfortable. Check with Mentor on advice.
Although Cardio is my weakness I'm working on it. Much preferring the updated program - not so daunting. Still got a lot of work to do on myself. But that's ok.
